Organisation and relevant experience: Leicester Housing Association (LHA) is a ‘not for profit’ organisation with over 35 years’ experience in providing affordable housing and building sustainable communities. It builds and manages over 8,000 good quality accommodation to rent, buy, or part-rent/partbuy through shared ownership across the East Midlands. LHA is part of LHA-ASRA Group. The group owns and manages 11,000 homes across an area extending from Nottinghamshire across Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, to London and the Home Counties, with over 500 staff. It is an approved Investment Partner of the Homes and Communities Agency, and has a capital programme worth over £100 million gross. LHA-ASRA works with 35 local authorities and 27 London boroughs, provides community services (including recycling), housing services, care services and children/family services and also provides a mixture of general needs accommodation for all communities and stock with an Asian specialism. It also has a substantial portfolio of care and supported housing and works on a wide range of refurbished homes.
Tasks: Within this project, the association will measure building energy use before retrofitting, retrofit six houses in the UK and assist monitoring the retrofitted buildings as well as other activities of the project.
